Henry M. Brau, age 86, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in Sugar Land, Texas. He was born in Richmond, Texas on September 25, 1925 to Carl K. and Wilhelminnie (Seyer) Brau.

He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas E. Brau; his father, Carl K. Brau and mother, Wilhelminnie (Seyer) Brau; his sisters, Loyline Brau Nawara and husband, Gus Ernest Nawara;
Wilhelminnie Brau Kirk and husband, Calvin W. Kirk; his brother, Adolph Carl Brau and wife, Josie Bernice Borowiak Brau; and his brothers-in-law, Louis V. Prihoda and Leonard Prasatik.

Henry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Bernice Brau, daughter-in-law, Margaret Kay Brau; sister, Ursula Clara Brau Prihoda; brother, Carl William Brau, Sr. and wife, Mary Vavrecka Brau; sister-in-law, Agnes Prasatik; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Henry served in the Army in World War II in Germany, and was a member of the American Legion Post 271. He was employed by Southwestern Bell for 41 years, until his retirement in 1988 and was very active with the Telephone Company Pioneers, serving as a past president. He was a Member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rosenberg, hosting one of his favorite past time Bar-B-Q socials at his Country Place in Nelsonville. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at What-A-Burger. His favorite time of year was when he was working with many family and friends decorating his yard and home at Christmas.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, August 24, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1512 Louise Street in Rosenberg.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Rosenberg with Reverend Wayne Schueler officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Caring Ministries or General Fund, 1512 Louise Street, Rosenberg, Texas 77471.
