You won't see him out front watering the lawn anymore - Dad's work here is done.
Jack Acosta slipped away May 23, 2015. His old heart was tired and he needed to rest.
Dad was born in Stamford, Texas on February 1, 1945. He was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters.
In 1967 he was drafted into the army and earned a Purple Heart in Vietnam.
Dad was proud of his military service but he was most proud of his family.
He married Rose Ann Rodriguez in 1969, a girl he first met in the fifth grade at Knox City Elementary School.
Together they had one son and two daughters. Five grandkids would follow - that's when Dad's title changed to Popo.
Jack Acosta loved to work on his yard, he loved the Dallas Cowboys and he loved to sneak off to the casinos.
Most of all he loved his family and we loved him.
Take a break Dad, you've earned it.
Mom says you loved her enough to last a lifetime.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel, 3900 Terry Boulevard in Rosenberg.
