Gertrude Earle (Otto) Goss
Gertrude Earle Otto Goss, also known as Gertie or Granny, to everyone who knew her, was born on June 4, 1918 in Garwood, Texas to William and Edna Otto. Gertrude married the love of her life, Lewis Albert Goss on June 5, 1937 and resided in Rosenberg until her death. Granny passed away at 9:31 P.M. on June 2, 2015, just two days shy of her 97th birthday.

Gertrude had a tremendous spirit and positive outlook on life. She worked for 40 plus years and was a fixture at Mensik's Super Market and later at Hadjik's Food Market in Rosenberg were she was nicknamed "Granny", a name that would be used by everyone that knew her for the rest of her years.

She will be remembered by all for her caustic wit, her exhilarating smile, her contagious laughter and her never ending good nature. She was ALWAYS looking for the good in every situation. She was a devoted daughter, mother, mother –in-law, grandmother, aunt, cousin, great grandmother, friend, neighbor and wife. Now God has an angel like no other. Take care of our beloved family member Dear Lord!

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Christian and Carrie Raver of Garwood, her mother, Edna Lillie Raver Otto, of Rosenberg, her father, William Otto of Garwood, her loving husband of 57 years, Lewis Albert Goss and her grandson, Bengene Matheaus Jr. of Lake Jackson.

She is survived by her only daughter, Linda Marion Goss Matheaus and husband, Bengene Matheaus Sr. of Rosenberg; grandson, Curtis J. Matheaus of Los Angeles/Rosenberg; great-grandson, Nathan Cole Matheaus and wife, Lindsey, of Rosenberg, as well, as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel from 9:30 until service time at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park immediately following the service. Pastor Greg Garcia will officiate the services. Gertrude will be laid to rest between her husband and mother on what would have been her 78th Wedding Anniversary.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Cole Matheaus, Curtis J. Matheaus, Tommy Tucker, Leonard Harold Tucker, Anthony Sulak and John Barr Stapp
