Morris Erwin Tardiff, Jr., beloved husband, father, brother and prayer warrior was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, August 8, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Ruby Ethel Tardiff; grandparents: George and Stella Taylor and Gus and Lottie Tardiff; and his father-in-law, Ross M. Dempsey.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughter Stephanie Schumann and her husband Jeff, his son, Douglas Cross and wife Jodi, his beloved sister, Kay Pratka and husband Mark, his nephews: Brent Pratka and wife Christi and great nephew Barret; Kurt Pratka and wife Danielle and Clay Pratka and wife Beverly; and his most loved grandchildren: Jordan and Sara Schumann, and Robert, Gabriel, and Emily Cross and "adopted" grandkids Kyrah Schoenberger and Ashley McCrory.

Morris was born on November 13, 1945 in El Campo, TX where he grew up. He served in the U.S. Army; a proud Viet Nam veteran, Morris was an unabashed patriot. He moved to Houston after his military service, working at Ingersoll Rand in the pump parts department. In 1983, he took his considerable parts knowledge and with his partner founded TK Service. He and partner, Bill Mayfield, were enjoying their best year ever in 2015.

Morris married the love of his life, Carol in 1983 and he immediately became father and confidant to Stephanie, 15, and Doug, 9. Carol and Morris are active members of First United Methodist Houston Church in downtown Houston, serving on the Administrative Board, member of Sunday school class, Alpha and Omega, mission work in Port Houston, and the church's prayer ministry. To Morris, family was his passion. He is beloved Burr, Grampie, Junior and Pete to those who love him. Morris will be remembered for his love of God, church, family, and his compassion for those in need of prayer.

Visitation will be at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel at 3900 BF Terry Blvd, Rosenberg, TX from 4-8 pm on Sunday, August 16th. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, August 17th at the First United Methodist Church at 1320 Main Street, Houston. Interment will be at 1:00 in the historic Morton Cemetery, in Richmond, TX.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the First United Methodist Church-Houston General Ministry or Missions.
