Following college, Alonzo worked in his family's business before pursuing a career in radio. He worked for Cox Radio in Houston, New Wavo Communications in Conroe, TX, Noalmark Broadcasting in El Dorado, AR and internet-based Country Crossroads. Across his radio career he held positions in promotions and production, as well as being an on-air personality. Underscoring his radio career was a love of all types of music, but particularly country music and classic rock. Alonzo started playing the drums when he was 4 years old, and continued throughout his lifetime. He also played guitar and bass. He performed in the marching bands at Willowridge High School and Blinn College, and was a member of several country and rock bands throughout his life. Some of his favorite bands include "Cousin Earl" and "Southern Koast" in Arkansas, and "Delta Groove Factor" and "The Bobby D Sawyer Band" in Houston. Alonzo also loved photography, and worked as a professional photographer.

Alonzo had a generous spirit, always giving to others. He was a regular blood-donor, and participated in numerous activities supporting pediatric cancer research. Through his volunteer work, he met a special young girl, Julia, who was fighting pediatric cancer. She became his surrogate daughter. His final gift to the world was to be an organ and tissue donor. He always had a smile on his face, and was quick to make others laugh. This loving husband, son, brother and friend will truly be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Debra (Anderson) Corak, who he met when he was 14 years old. Following high school, they lost track of one another, but were reconnected via social media in 2010, and married in 2011.
