Tillie Mae Dedek, 92, of Richmond, Texas went to her reward on Saturday, December 26, 2015.

Tillie was born in Lockhart, Texas on May 8, 1923. When she was a young child her family moved from Lockhart to farm more fertile ground near the Longpoint community in Fort Bend County, Texas. On October 30, 1951, Tillie married the love of her life; a handsome cotton farmer named Edward Dedek. After Edward's death in 1996, Tillie continued to live on their Fairchilds area farm until this past summer when she was hospitalized and later moved to long-term care at Cambridge Health Center in Richmond. Tillie's life was focused on family. She was a nurturing sister, mother and grandmother; with a selfless, yet strong-willed nature. She was a hard worker, spending most of her life as a caregiver and becoming anxious in the last several years when others had to tend to her care. Tillie loved children and they loved her. She had a passion for cooking, baking and gardening. Passerby's admired her flawlessly manicured lawn, her beautiful azaleas and her endless varieties of daylilies. Life lost a lot of luster for her in 2006, when her declining health limited her outdoor activity.

Tillie was preceded in death by her parents, Anastasia and Ignatz Henry Bienek and stepmother Albina Bienek; husband Edward Frank Dedek; granddaughter April Barr; grandson Larry Hoot; sisters Cecilia Petrosky, Annie Vacek, Pauline (Polly) Pekar Pierce, Agnes (Aggie) Winningham and Lillie Johnston; brothers Alex, Mike, Henry, Frank, Emil and Henry C. (Pete) Bienek; and step-brother Alphonse (Al) Bilanoski.

Tillie is survived by her daughters Dorothy Meeler, Ruth Barr, Delta Hoot, Shirley Staubber and husband James, Tillie Childress and husband Jesse, Vickie Hackstedt and husband Otto (Sonny), and Helen Sosa and husband Raymon; son Henry Dedek and wife Donna; sister Margaret Phillips; 24 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and caregivers.

Tillie, known as "Nannie" to her grandchildren, will be missed by family, friends and many others she touched during her full life. We all take comfort in knowing God has placed her among our loved ones that passed before her.

Pallbearers will be six of her grandsons: Brian Hackstedt, Jonathan Sosa, Jonas Sosa, Joshua Sosa, Justin Sosa and Travis Dedek.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral service and burial will immediately follow visitation at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in Rosenberg.

For those wishing to give memorials in Tillie's name, they may be made to St. Paul's Presbyterian Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 389, Needville, TX 77461 or a charity of personal choosing.
