Janet DeShazo Ashworth, 78, of Rosenberg, passed away on December 28, 2015 in Needville. She was born on September 9, 1937 in Sugar Land, Texas to Bert and Annie (Stavinoha) DeShazo. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rosenberg. Janet was an accountant for Kocurek's Flower Shop for many years and after her retirement, she found great joy in being a Nanny for her family and friends. Her hobbies included painting, sewing, reading and traveling.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Ashworth; and her parents. Survivors include her children, Kelly Ashworth, Robin Schwenke and husband, Mark, and Ginger Tucker and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Miranda Wiley and husband, Ryan, and Ashley Johnson and husband, Nick; great grandchildren, Sophie and Luke Wiley, and Anna Johnson; brother, Glenn DeShazo and wife, Donna; niece, Lauren DeShazo; along with numerous cousins, extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg with burial following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.


Pallbearers will include Brock Bartosh, Scott Bittner, Gary Engelhardt, Rusty Gibson, Nick Johnson, and Ryan Wiley.

Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church in Rosenberg, earmarked for The Mother's Day Out Program.

The family would like to thank all of the Staff at S.P.J.S.T. Rest Home # 2 in Needville for the love, care and special attention they provided to Mrs. Ashworth over the past years.
