Darwin "DOK" Oran Keyes. 69, of Needville, Texas, passed away on January 22, 2016, after a lengthy illness.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel. Pastor Greg Garcia of Creekside Christian Fellowship will be officiating.
Darwin was born in Woodsboro, Texas on August 17, 1946. He served in the United States Army until being honorably discharged in August 1967.
He was a police officer for over 30 years before retiring from the Fort Bend Sheriff's Office in 2011. He loved spending time with his sons and their families. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his fruitful garden with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by, father Milton Warren Keyes, wife Blanche Keyes; mother Viola Schlichting; stepfather, Floyd Schlichting; sister, Priscilla Keyes Rauch.
Darwin is survived by his partner in life, Sandra McLemore Keyes; 2 sons, Brandon Keyes, wife Shannon; Blake Keyes, wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Kylie Vega, Kyndal Vega, Holland Keyes, Karris Keyes, and Memphis Keyes; sisters, Rosanna Schlichting Gilliam, husband Bill; Virginia Keyes Landry, husband Clyde; Kathleen Keyes, partner John Herlihy; brothers, Sherman Schlichting, wife Joy; David Keyes, wife Nona; Warren Keyes, wife, Nancy; Luke Keyes, wife, Mary; stepmother Pat Schlichting Truett; brother in law Marcus Rauch; and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
