Clara Henrietta Gerstenberger, 96, of Brenham, Texas, entered eternal life on Saturday, January 23, 2016. She was born March 29, 1919 to Ernst Pampell and Agnes Moerbe Pampell in Loebau, Texas. (near Giddings). She was baptized into the Christian Faith on April 19, 1919 at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau, and was confirmed in the faith at the same church as a teenager.

Clara began working in Houston as a young adult, driving back to Loebau to help care for her parents on their farm. After many years of service on the assembly line, she retired from American Can Company in 1974.

Clara married Edd Gerstenberger on June 16, 1965 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Houston. She was a member of Trinity for years, and they continued attending as a couple until they became members of Trinity Lutheran Church of Sealy in 2006 when they moved to Bellville. They lived in Bellville for over 20 years before moving to Kruse Village Brenham, Texas in 2010.

Clara and Edd enjoyed both of their extended families and attended many get- togethers' and celebrations. They visited ill and elderly relatives and stayed current with family and friends until their health slowed them down. Clara and Edd were always together. Now they are together again in Heaven with God.

Clara is preceded in death by her husband Edd, her parents, sisters Mary and Lisbet, brothers Herbert, William, Arnold, and Alfred. She is survived by her brother Edward and wife Laverne, Sisters in law Frances and Garnet, brother in law Benny Gerstenberger and wife Colleen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sealy beginning a 9:30 A.M. The service will follow at 10:30 A.M. with the Reverend Dr. Kenneth Bersche officiating. Committal will be at the conclusion of the service. Interment is at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Rosenberg, Texas

The family expresses our sincere thanks to Liz and David Gerstenberger for their many visits to Clara, and unselfish coordination and supervision of her care. We also thank her full time caregivers and the Kruse and hospice staff. God bless you all.
