Boyd Edward Dawson, 79, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away on April 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born on October 15, 1936 in New Gulf, Texas to Jerry and Gladys Dawson. He was a past President of the Fort Bend County Fair and a Life Time Member of the Fort Bend County Fair. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid elk hunter. After retirement, he stayed busy with his quail farm and raising honey bees. This loving father, grandfather, brother and friend will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Dawson; mother, Gladys Dawson; and his father and stepmother, Jerry and Audrey Dawson.

Survivors include his children, Glen Dawson and wife, Janet, and Cheryl Wosnitzky and husband, Jim; siblings, Mary Sterry, Neil Dawson, and Dorothy Justice and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Katie Davenport and husband, Ryan; Haley Dawson and boyfriend, Blake Pickett, Tyler Dawson, Emily Dawson, Erin Dawson, John Wosnitzky and wife, Patricia and Jennifer Beese and husband, Rob; great grandchildren, Grayson Beese and Kalyn Wosnitzky.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

Pallbearers will include Rob Beese, John Wosnitzky, Ryan Davenport, Blake Pickett, Tyler Dawson and Dennis Baxter.
Honorary pallbearers will include Jim Wosnitzky, Johnnie Cooper, Grayson Beese, Larry Corman, and Burl Nossaman.
