John R. Donart of Sugar Land, Texas peacefully passed away in his home, surrounded by loved ones, on June 4, 2016. He was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on May 29, 1938. He is preceded in death by his mother, Loyal Donart, his father, Charles Donart (and his wife, Marcella) and his beloved grandmother, Lillian Umberham. He graduated from Central Catholic High School (1956) and St. Norbert's College (1961) in DePere, Wisconsin. He started working for Wausau Insurance Companies after college and retired from there 36 years later. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary; his children, Chris Donart of Arnold, MO; Lisa (Harry James) Briers of Missouri City, Texas, Sheila (Peter) Heidel of Sugar Land, Texas and Vince (Colleen) Donart of Sugar Land, Texas; nine grandchildren and two great grandsons, whom he loved with all his heart, Melissa (Ryan), Brandon, Sarah, Cole, Brooke, Jill, Abby, Ethan, Bailey, Garrett and Brayden. He is also survived by many friends and family members including his brother, Mike Donart and sisters, Kay Samson, Carol (Tim) Rudd and Mary (Bill) Kaminski, a loving aunt, June Schumacher, a special sister-in-law, Ann (Richard) Phillips, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

For forty years, he was an active member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas.

His love and joy were God, Family and the Green Bay Packers! Rest In Peace – We love you!

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2016 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

A memorial mass will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2016 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 705 St. Theresa Blvd. in Sugar Land, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vitas Hospice Care, 3131 Eastside Street #200, Houston, Texas 77098.
