Our Dad, Arthur William Roehe, 98 years young and a lifelong resident of the Rosenberg/Needville area, waltzed out of this world and joined his heavenly family on September 16, 2016. He died peacefully in his home of 65+ years, with family close to him. Arthur entered this world on July 13, 1918 as the first child of Otto and Alvina Motl Roehe, in Rosenberg Texas.

Arthur was a devoted Catholic and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. In his lifetime, he was an active member in his parish, a volunteer for Perpetual Adoration Chapel, annual Bazaar booth chairman each year, member of KJT Society and Young at Hearts Club, just to name a few.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Albina; siblings Clarence Roehe and Dollie Evans Hausler; grandson, Kendall Roehe; nephews, Cary and Duke Roehe.

He is survived by his daughter, Stella Lessert; sons, Mike Roehe and Minnie, Tony Roehe and Pam; grandchildren, James Kopecky, Julianne Boone and Mark, Heather, Amber and Audra Roehe; great-grandchildren, Derek Boone, Camryn and Eden Roehe; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Arthur's love of dancing at Fairchilds and Pleak Halls, Bill Mraz Hall in Houston, Riverside Hall, Happy Cousins Dance Club and many others, spanned most of his lifetime except for his last years. Other activities among his favorites were family barbeques for which he made mouthwatering barbeque, fishing and fish fries with the catch. His vegetable gardens each season rendered abundant produce for giving away and canning. He enlisted in the Civil Conservation Corp at 17 and worked in Albuquerque, New Mexico building the first roads through the Sandia Mountains…this time was a rewarding experience and he spoke of it often. He was employed by Jefferson Lake Sulphur Company for 40+ years and retired at the age of 62, after which he and his wife traveled visiting relatives and enjoying the scenery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, September 20, 2016, at Davis Greenlawn Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with rosary at 7:00 p.m.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning , September 21, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on George Street in Rosenberg with Father Dan Warden and Father Bill Bartniski officiating. (Viewing from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the church).

Pallbearers will be James Kopecky, Julie and Derek Boone, Heather and Camryn Roehe, Amber Roehe, Cody Evans and Marla Brophy Honorary Pallbearer will be Audra Roehe.

Arthur lived a committed life to God, his family and his work; he was a patient, kind and gentle man with an ever present sense of humor.

In lieu of flowers you may donate in his name to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1416 George St., Rosenberg, TX 77471.
