Funeral services for Melvin W. Kurtz, 97, of Bryan, formerly of Rosenberg will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Peace Lutheran Church in Rosenberg with Pastor Norm Albertson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2010 in the Stateroom of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
Melvin was born April 17, 1912 in Holland, Texas to William F. and Adele Friedrich Kurtz. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rosenberg. Melvin was a hard worker and a farmer for over 50 years. He passed away February 19, 2010 in Bryan, Texas.
Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, William and Adele Kurtz; infant siblings, Baby Boy Kurtz and Erna L. Kurtz; brother, Wilfert Kurtz; and sisters, Alma Bethke, Flora Biels, Adeline Posey and Gertrude Ramthun.
Melvin is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Lillie L. Kurtz of Bryan; sons, Lenert Kurtz and wife, Janet of Rosenberg and Lyndon Kurtz and wife, Gail of Bryan; grandsons, Stephen Kurtz and wife, Dershie of Boerne, and Jeffrey Kurtz and wife, Leslie of College Station; great grandchildren, Kade and Karson Kurtz and Hope and Kyle Kurtz; along with numerous other family and friends.
