Funeral services for Prudencio Morales, Sr., 88, of Needville will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Needville Community Assembly of God Church in Needville with Pastor Monty Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at San Francisco Cemetery in Needville.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
Prudencio was born May 28, 1922 in Brownsville, Texas to Timoteo and Delfina Lara Morales. He attended Needville Community Assembly of God Church in Needville. Known as 'Grandpa' to some and 'Great Gramps' to others, Prudencio loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Prudencio loved doing mechanic work and working with his hands. He went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2010 in Needville with his family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carlotta Cabrera Morales; daughter, Cecilia Fernandez; parents, Timoteo and Delfina Morales; and several siblings.
Prudencio is survived by his children, Prudencio Morales, Jr. and wife, Nancy Munguia, Janie Martinez and husband, Leonard, Jessie Morales and wife, Maria, David Morales, and Frances Martinez and husband, Joe; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Escamilla and husband, Luis; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. Prudencio was awaiting the arrival of two additional great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include Prudencio Morales III, Kris Morales, Damien Yarbrough, Leonard Martinez, Jr., Lawton Ray Martinez, Jose Martinez, Jr., Carlos Fernandez, Jr. and Calvin Ray Fernandez.
