Kasmier "Ki" Kubik passed away on July 29, 2010. He was born in the Bronx, New York City on February 12, 1922 to Peter and Josephine Kubik and was preceded in death by his two sisters, Helen Nowicki and Clara Grewen. Ki grew up in Johnstown, New York. After graduating from Johnstown High School, he attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and in 1944, graduated with a BS degree in Geology from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, South Dakota and married his wife Joyce on July 27th. He joined the Marine Corps and served in the South Pacific. After World War II, Ki began his 40 year career in the oil industry as a geophysicist working in west and south Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas before settling down in Houston.

Ki is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce Holt Kubik; daughter Carol and her husband Sammy Tamborello and their sons Sammy, Jr. and Michael and his wife Terrie and their daughter, Ella Mae; son Michael and his wife Sherry and their children Darien and her husband Joe Wilson and their children Zoe Love and Clark Holt, Jessica and her husband Kenton Stephens, Joshua, Jennifer, and Jacob and his wife Whitney; son Jack and his wife Kay and their children Kori, Natalie, and Joe; son Steve and his children Cristin, Jonny, and Kelly; daughter Susie and her husband Wayne and their children Brian and his son Jonny and Katie and her husband Greg Palmer. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Stefka and her daughter Kathy and family.

Ki was a member of the Geophysical Society of Houston and Houston Geological Society and a past member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. He was "host" volunteer at the Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital for 15 years. Ki and Joyce lived in West University for 25 years before moving to Sugar Land in 1990 where they became members of St. Laurence Catholic Church. Ki's family would like to thank Roxanne Grice for her loving care.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 1st at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, Texas.

Funeral service will be Monday, August 2nd, at 10:00 AM at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas.
