Harold Curtis McCullar (“Curtis”), 77, passed away on Friday, July 30th 2010 after a long and valiant fight with congestive heart failure. Curtis was born in Dow, Oklahoma on January 31, 1933. The seventh of ten children in his family, he spent his youth in Oklahoma, California and Texas and graduated from West Columbia High School in West Columbia, Texas. After high school, he served in the U.S Army and then attended the University of Houston where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. After a brief corporate career, Curtis started his own business, which he ran up until the end of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Rogers), whom he married in 1959 and who passed away in 1985.
Curtis is survived by his children Teri, Curt, Roger and Brian and seven grandchildren.
Curtis valued most his relationships with his many friends and family, in particular the companionship of his friend, June McBride, for over 20 years.
He was known for his sense of humor and ability to put a smile on the face of everyone in the room with his quick wit or a joke. He was quite an entertainer and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing, especially old country tunes or silly children’s songs, to the delight of his grandchildren. He also had a very kind and generous heart and helped those in need whenever possible. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and the funeral service, followed by internment, will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 BF Terry Blvd., Rosenberg, Texas, 281-341-8800.
